Meli is evolving its Family Support Platform in line with the Victorian Strategic Framework for Family Services. As a Senior Child and Family Practitioner within the Restoring stream, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting families with complex and enduring needs. This is a senior opportunity to deliver evidence-based interventions, provide mentoring to a dedicated team, and collaborate across service streams to prevent lifelong harm and promote recovery.
About the Role
As a Senior Child and Family Practitioner – Restoring Families, you will:
- Deliver high-quality outreach, case management, and therapeutic support to families with complex needs
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to practitioners within the Family Support Program
- Collaborate across Connecting, Strengthening, and Restoring streams to ensure integrated, holistic service delivery
- Conduct risk assessments, develop tailored action plans, and facilitate group programs to promote safety and healing
Position Details
- Full time, Fixed term position until 09 October 2026
- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $110,379 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare Studies, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Behavioural Sciences or related field
- Demonstrated experience managing complex cases with strong case practice including client advocacy, counselling, therapeutic interventions and family support in line with Evidence Informed Frameworks, including risk and needs assessments
- Demonstrated knowledge of the factors that can impact on a parent’s ability to care for children and knowledge of the service system and resources available that can support parents, children and young people
- Highly developed communication skills with an ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively in both written documents and verbal interactions
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation and externally
