About the role

This is a full-time Welder Fabricator role based in Epping, Victoria. As a Welder Fabricator, you will be responsible for the efficient and high-quality fabrication of metal components and structures.

Responsibilities

· Select appropriate welding equipment

· Adhere to safety protocols & use appropriate protective gear

· Fabricate steel according to plans & specifications

· Prepare materials & ensure quality & safety

· Assess completed jobs for defects

· Teamwork: Work effectively with other team members.

· Cutting & drilling steel

· Welding & Assembly

· Prep work area – clean, set up welding equipment and ensure the area is safe & organised

· Read plans & fabricate to specifications

· Ensure welds meet quality standards & specifications

Relevant Skills & Experience

· Licensed to perform High Risk Work

· Proficient in stick welding, MIG, flux core and oxy cutting techniques

· Ability to weld with TIG, Oxy welding and brazing

· Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints

· Ability to weld in all the positions

· Workshop Supervisor - Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines, conducted regular inspections of tools and machinery to ensure safety and functionality

· Enforcing workshop safety regulations and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards

· Welder/ Boilermaker - Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the welding requirements for stitch plates and structures.

· Ensuring welds meet quality standards and specifications, including strength and appearance requirements

· Performed MIG welding for steel components, ensuring high-quality standards and structural integrity

· Installed steel structures for warehouses and residential buildings, collaborating with on-site teams to ensure proper assembly

· Coordinated with construction teams to ensure the correct installation of fabricated structures

· Implemented quality control procedures, minimizing material waste and improving efficiency

· Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade

· Certificate IV in Engineering

· Certificate III in Engineering- Fabrication Trade

· At least 1 year of full-time work experience as a Welder Fabricator
