Denton Engineering & Hydraulics is a General Engineering jobbing workshop based in Thornton NSW.
We are a busy family owned and operated business, specialising in precision machining, thermal arc spraying, hydraulic cylinder repairs and remanufacture.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Officer for full-time hours to work in our recently built store.
Ideally, you will be a highly motivated and organised person, with great customer service skills who has a trade background or interest.
This is a newly created role within our workshop and has the potential for you to bring your expertise and make it your own while adhering to all quality, safety and environmental requirements, are maintained in line with our Quality, Safety and Environmental policies

The Position Involves:
· Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet production requirements.
. Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
· Identify and address inventory discrepancies, variances and quality issues.
· Analyse inventory, warehouse and usage data to identify trends, inefficiencies and areas of improvement.
· Oversee warehouse receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming goods.
· Responsible for monitoring tooling condition in and out of store.
· Schedule, plan and action regular cycle counts, 6 monthly stocktakes.
· First point of contact for walk in customers.
. Liaise with suppliers for operational needs.
· Liaise with Operations manager on a weekly basis to assist in monitoring budgets and employees store activity.
· Liaise with workshop supervisor to maintain efficient logistics.
What we are looking for:
· Demonstrated success in a similar role, with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proficient in MS Office software such as Excel, Outlook etc and familiar with inventory management software (ERP systems).
· Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work autonomously.
· Holds valid driver’s licence and High Risk Forklift licence.
· Experience working in engineering/manufacturing industries.
· Knowledge of stocktaking processes and cycle counts.
· Willingness to complete a Pre-Employment Medical including drug and alcohol test
