Description
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance ethical practices and compliance frameworks.
- Provide expert advice on ethical standards and related policies.
- Conduct investigations into potential breaches of ethical guidelines.
- Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for action and improvement.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote accountability.
- Deliver training and workshops on ethical practices and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ethical standards programs.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures within the Human Resources department.
Profile
A successful Principal Consultant - Ethical Standards Unit should have:
- Demonstrated experience in governance, compliance, or ethical standards within the public sector.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive investigations with discretion.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in delivering training or workshops is advantageous.
- A tertiary qualification in law, governance, or a related discipline.
The successful candidate must have:
- Expertise in Employee and Industrial Relations (ER/IR)
- Proven success managing complex cases including terminations, redundancies, and disputes
- Experience working in highly unionised environments (e.g. construction, health, mining, manufacturing)
- Strong understanding of Australian employment law and industrial instruments
- Ability to navigate adversarial union dynamics with confidence and professionalism
- Skilled in interpreting and negotiating enterprise agreements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Resilience and professionalism
Job Offer
- Competitive hourly rate of $87.75 per hour plus super
