Kurbingui Youth and Family Development is looking for a committed Administration Officer to join our team and play a vital role in supporting day-to-day operations. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to our mission of empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families, and communities across Brisbane North and Moreton Bay.

About Us
Kurbingui is a Not-For-Profit (NFP) Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation that provides Family, Community, Cultural, Education, Training, and Social Wellbeing Services across the Greater Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and Southeast Regions. Our programs address isolation, social emotional wellbeing, poverty, discrimination, family issues, and unemployment through case management, therapeutic support, outreach, community development, education, training, and community events. Kurbingui collaborates with government, other not-for-profit organisations, agencies, Elders, and community members to ensure high-quality and culturally safe services. Through community-led initiatives and partnerships, the organisation empowers First Nations peoples to thrive and lead positive change.
Key Responsibilities
Office Operations
Organising and maintaining office systems, including filing and data management.
Ensuring office supplies are stocked and equipment is functioning within the office and in all Kurbingui sites.
Document Preparation & Management
Drafting, formatting, and distributing correspondence, reports, and other documents.
Managing incoming and outgoing mail and emails.
Record Keeping
Maintaining accurate records of company activities, including employee files, financial documents, and meeting minutes.
Scheduling & Coordination
Organising meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
Coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Customer Service & Communication
Handling inquiries from clients, suppliers, and staff.
Acting as a point of contact for administrative support.
Compliance & Policy Support
Assisting with the implementation of company policies and procedures.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Financial Administration
Processing invoices and petty cash.
Support to Management
Providing administrative support to senior staff or management teams.
Preparing presentations and reports as needed.
About You
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative role.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of and commitment to working with members of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Current QLD Driver’s Licence.
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) is essential. No Blue Card, No Start.
Criteria
Qualifications in, or professional experience, in Business Administration or a related field.
Experience in the not-for-profit or community services sector.
Familiarity with XERO and or other finance software.
Competency in data input i.e. case management databases.
