This WA based business was set up over 25 years ago and is a private company led by a team of high calibre senior managers/executives from multi-billion dollar businesses in agriculture, mining services, retail and banking. This is combined with a corporate family culture stemming from the entrepreneurial background of this wholly owned family business that celebrates loyalty and has many employees who have come a long way on the journey with the Business. As a national business the company focusses on the retail and wholesale of Agricultural and Construction machinery, parts, and accessories.

Due to significant growth (both organic and through acquisition) over the past 4 years, Revenue of the Group will have tripled to circa $900m. The Group has been continuously profitable due to a well thought-out and sustainable growth strategy. It has also developed a strong network of branches across Australia with numerous dealerships and multiple build and parts facilities.

The Role

The Group is seeking a qualified Group Accountant to join the central finance team, ensuring strong financial management and governance across the group and to support the business into its next phase of investment and growth. In this newly created role you will have exposure to financial control, statutory reporting, management accounting, systems upgrade and banking and treasury activities.

• Work alongside the CFO and Group Financial Controller to uplift the entire control framework across the group.
• Support finance staff members in rolling out McIntosh Groups new ERP system.
• Month-end close off processes including balance sheet reconciliations, journal and general ledger entries etc
• Support Group Financial Controller with the production of management reporting and insights into the business.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting.
• Support annual external audit and financial statement preparation for the group.
• Work with Group Financial Controller on preparation of monthly BAS and other tax related calculations.
• Own the lease accounting processes and procedures across the group.
• Analyse internal operations and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.

You

• This role will ideally suit an individual who has recently completed or is in the final stages of CA completion and has commercial experience
• Those from a Big 4 and second tier public practice background in Audit and Business Services will be viewed favourably
• Someone who enjoys interacting with a broad range of operational staff across the multiple dealership locations.
• Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
• CA/ACCA/CIMA or working towards qualification.
