Accountant / Cockburn / Permanent / $120,000 - $135,000 / Bonuses / Flexible Working

A market leading national engineering business with sites across Australia are looking to recruit a skilled Accountant on a permanent basis. Continued growth has led to the position being recruited. The main purpose of the Accountant will be to take ownership of finance and assist with driving the business forward. Accountant's key duties will include:

• Lead and execute month end and year end closing processes including accrual accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting that will aid in key decision making
• Prepare and submit statutory financial reports to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
• Perform budgeting & forecasting reporting
• Perform end of month and year end reconciliations, including balance sheet and intercompany accounts
• Prepare and lodge BAS, GST and FBT returns ensuring compliance with all tax obligations and deadlines
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with superannuation, payroll tax and employment related financial obligations
• Prepare, post and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards and internal policies
• Prepare financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Maintain and improve internal control procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial transactions and data
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations ensuring timely settlement and accurate reporting

• Proven at improving processes
• Confident with systems including excel
