APRA AMCOS is a member-owned music rights management organisation, positioned at the intersection of music, data and technology. We have more than 124,000 members who are songwriters, composers and music publishers. We license organisations to play, perform, copy or record our members’ music, and we distribute the royalties to our members.
SongMakers is a contemporary music initiative nurturing students’ creativity and team skills. Australia’s leading songwriters and producers collaborate with students to create and record new music, right there in the classroom. Students are immersed in a real world, collaborative co-writing environment and given invaluable insight into the forces that drive the global contemporary music industry.
We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic to support in the delivery of our mentoring program, SongMakers for a fixed term opportunity.
The NSW coordinator will work with the NSW Manager to support the delivery of the national SongMakers Program on behalf of APRA AMCOS. The program promotes the value of songwriting for young creatives by modelling songwriting and production and providing scaffolding into the music industry.
This role is based in our Ultimo office, which is on Gadigal land.
As an NSW Coordinator, SongMakers, your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate the core NSW program of mentored, in-school, 2-day workshops across approximately 30 schools annually.
Coordinate the delivery of professional development and initial teacher education for NSW teachers and mentors.
Create program promotional content and coordinate marketing and communications, in collaboration with APRA AMCOS’ comms team and external partners.
Coordinate a comprehensive evaluation process for SongMakers alongside the Education Advisor and National Program Manager.
Support program expansion and development efforts, including seeking external funding, submitting proposals, and acquitting grants.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
Demonstrated success in event management, with experience in logistics, and travel booking.
A strong history of delivering live music programs across a broad range of artists and events.
Experience in partnering with vendors.
Experience in partnering with local government.
Experience in partnering in regional areas.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
