The Position
Are you passionate about improving infrastructure and enhancing liveability in your community? We are looking for a Technical Officer – Transport to join our dynamic Asset Engineering team.
In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the delivery of sustainable and high-quality infrastructure by supporting the planning and implementation of asset management strategies across Council’s Transport and Recreational & Open Space asset networks.
Your technical expertise will help shape the development of capital works programs that reduce risk, drive financial sustainability, and improve outcomes for our growing region.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will hold an Associate Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering) or a relevant post-secondary qualification in Civil Construction or Engineering, coupled with significant relevant experience aligned with the key outcomes of the role. You will have a strong understanding of asset management principles and the ability to apply Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other software tools within the asset management process.
You are a practical problem solver with demonstrated ability to address technical engineering challenges and develop effective, real-world solutions. You bring a strong commitment to professional conduct and are capable of demonstrating all required behavioural competencies. A current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence is essential for this role.
In addition, it would be highly regarded if you bring knowledge of road safety, traffic engineering, and transport planning standards and guidelines. Experience working within Local Government, as well as skills in project management and formal asset management qualifications, will be considered favourably. Possession of a current Construction Induction ‘White Card’ is also desirable.
