Your role at St John of God Health Care
You will provide support to the Manager Maternity Services to plan and deliver priority quality initiatives. Primarily you will participate in stakeholder engagement with Maternity clinicians across multiple SJGHC services in both regional and metropolitan settings and will be responsible for centralised auditing, development of resources and in person clinical support of maternity units during implementation phases.
The Position
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) input into the development of clinical audits related to Obstetric and Neonatal Services.
- Conduct centralised auditing across multiple Maternity services related to key controls.
- Compile regular reports related to the analysis of audit outcomes and opportunities for improvement to enhance patient safety.
- Develop pre-implementation/ post implementation resources to support Hospitals with adoption of quality improvement actions.
- Provide SME input with the review and development of organisational policy and procedure that supports practice improvement.
- Provide SME input to the management of routine upgrades to clinical systems that support the provision of excellence in clinical care.
- Assist with the development of action plans and implementation targets across the calendar year to assist with meeting deadlines.
- Collaborate with individual Hospital management/ Midwifery teams to establish local processes that enable successful implementation of quality improvement actions.
- Provide short term in-person clinical support to individual Hospitals during implementation phases to assist with imbedding practice change.
- Facilitate caregiver development, including preceptoring, coaching, mentoring and achieving competencies.
- Participate in Manager Meetings as well as relevant committees and working parties.
You will have demonstrated leadership experience within the Midwifery specialty in a Clinical Midwife/ ANUM, Learning and Development Midwife, Clinical Midwifery Specialist or Clinical Audit/ Quality and Risk officer position, along with demonstrated experience with planning, developing, delivering and evaluating practice improvement projects within the acute hospital setting
To succeed, you will hold AHPRA registration as a Nurse/Midwife or Midwife.

- Salary $124,196 per annum (pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation
- Permanent part time position working 15.2 hours a week, with days of work open to negotiation
- Located at Melbourne CBD Collins St office, with travel to our regional Hospitals as required
