We are now launching a transformative Virtual Power Plant (VPP) capability—connecting households, businesses, and advanced battery systems to create a smarter, more sustainable energy network.
The Role
As our Senior Product Manager – VPP, you’ll own the strategy, delivery, and lifecycle of our VPP product. You will work at the intersection of technology, energy markets, and customer experience—driving product innovation, integrating best-in-class EMS platforms, and partnering with leading battery OEMs to deliver a scalable, customer-focused VPP solution.
This is a high-impact role for someone who can combine technical understanding, commercial insight, and delivery expertise to make a tangible impact on Australia’s decentralised energy future.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver the VPP product roadmap in alignment with retail, technology, and customer strategies.
Define product specifications, integration requirements, and customer journeys.
Manage relationships with EMS vendors, battery OEMs, and internal technical teams.
Oversee VPP project rollout, ensuring compliance, performance, and market participation.
Collaborate with sales and marketing on go-to-market strategy, pricing, and customer acquisition.
Ensure product design aligns with NEM regulations, FCAS requirements, and DER aggregation frameworks.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
Proven experience delivering a VPP or DER aggregation product in an energy retailer or aggregator.
Strong knowledge of battery systems, hardware/software integration, and EMS platforms (Evergen, Kraken Flex, Enode, AmpX, etc.).
Experience working with battery OEMs such as Tesla, SAJ, or SolarEdge.
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, sales, and regulatory teams.
Desirable:
Exposure to National Electricity Market (NEM) operations.
Experience in channel sales, partner enablement, or hardware-as-a-service.
Startup/scale-up environment experience.
