Sales Engineer– Automated Packaging Solutions

THE COMPANY
This is a well-established, Australian-owned OEM specialising in the design, manufacturing, and installation of automated packaging systems. With offices across multiple states, they partner with leading food & beverage, industrial, pharmaceutical, and logistics brands to deliver large-scale, tailored solutions. Known for innovation, quality engineering, and long-term client relationships, they offer an environment where initiative, collaboration, and technical expertise are rewarded.

THE ROLE

  • Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will take ownership of the NSW territory, spending around 70% of your time on the road.
  • You’ll identify and engage new clients through proactive outreach, industry networking, and strategic targeting, while nurturing existing relationships to uncover further project opportunities.
  • Your main client base will be coming from food and beverage manufacturers, pharmaceutical manufacturers and logistics companies.
  • Projects range from high-speed form-fill-seal lines to complex robotic palletising systems, with deal values typically in the hundreds of thousands.
  • You’ll focus on the front-end of the sales process—building relationships, scoping needs, and working with internal teams to provide tailored proposals—before handing over to the delivery and installation teams.

THE CANDIDATE

  • The Most Important Thing: technically minded sales professional—someone who understands how mechanical components and systems integrate into larger projects.
  • If you don’t have any sales experience but has a strong mechanical or automation engineering background and wants to get into sales - we would love to hear from you.
  • Can hold consultative, solution-based conversations with senior decision-makers.
  • Ideally, you’ll come from an automation, machinery, mechanical, or industrial equipment background, with experience selling into sectors such as food & beverage manufacturing, industrial production, or similar.
  • You’ll thrive on hunting new business, building trust quickly, and managing a complex, long-cycle sales process.
  • A trades, engineering, or maintenance background paired with proven sales success will be highly regarded.
