The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the efficient movement, storage, and delivery of goods in our Melbourne Warehouse and must have a keen focus on cost and efficiency management. This role involves managing freight and warehouse operations, coordinating the receipt of incoming goods, including imported products, and ensuring timely dispatch of customer orders to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction while optimizing operational costs.

Key Responsibilities

Freight Management: Organize and monitor freight transportation, negotiating cost-effective rates with carriers, selecting optimal shipping methods, and ensuring compliance with regulations for both domestic and international shipments.

Warehouse Management: Oversee warehouse operations, implementing strategies to maximize space utilization, streamline processes, and reduce operational costs while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Coordination of Incoming Goods: Manage the receipt and inspection of incoming goods, including imported products, ensuring accurate documentation, customs compliance, and cost-efficient processing.

Order Dispatch: Coordinate the preparation and dispatch of customer orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to customer requirements while minimizing shipping costs.

Customer Satisfaction: Liaise with customers to provide updates on order status, resolve issues, and ensure deliveries meet expectations, balancing service quality with cost efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics, freight management, or warehouse operations, with a proven track record in cost and efficiency management. Experience with imported goods is preferred.

Working Conditions

May require occasional travel to warehouses, supplier sites, or customer locations to assess cost-saving opportunities.
