We are excited to be partnering with our State Government client in engaging a Manager – Rail Safety (AO8). Working within their Infrastructure Delivery Office, you will contribute to a safe, efficient, and effective network, meeting current and future needs by improving capacity, reliability, and safety. You will implement the Rail and WHS safety processes developed for the projects within the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office.

Reporting to the Project Director, some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement policies, guidelines, procedures, programs, and initiatives to support
• safety processes ensuring compliance with legislation and standards
• Implement the Project Safety Assurance activities
• Maintain oversight of safety assurance activities by contracted entities
• Prepare and present regular reports on safety assurance and management activities to project and program leadership teams
• Lead and support Project safety management activities, including risk assessment, safety observations and risk mitigation planning

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in a Health and Safety, Business, or a related field
• 8+ years’ experience working on large rail or major infrastructure projects
• ICAM lead investigator (Preferred)
• Internal Auditor qualifications (Preferred)
• Experience working with relevant WHS acts, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines and AS/ISO standards
• Experience working with regulatory bodies including ONRSR, OFSC
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively plan, implement, and manage safety activities, as well as to provide strategic advice to senior management

This is a temporary role for 6 months (with a possible extension) and based in the Brisbane CBD.
