Project Engineers – Civil & Structural Steel Projects

Location: Melbourne, Victoria

Salary: $130k – $160k + Super (Depending on Experience)

Employment Type: Full‑Time

We’re currently looking for Project Engineers to join a client’s team delivering large-scale civil and steel infrastructure projects in Melbourne. You’ll play a key role in the planning and execution of critical works, including Crane operations, Structural Steel works and SWMS preparation, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time and to spec.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily site operations on complex civil and steel packages for Data Centres and Civil Infrastructure Projects

Plan crane lifts and ensure compliance with safety standards

Coordinate Steel Deliveries and Installations, reviewing Shop Drawings

Prepare, review and implement SWMS and other safety documentation

Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to meet program targets

Monitor quality, safety, and environmental compliance

Track progress, variations and report to the Project Engineer/Manager

Liaise with engineers, supervisors and clients to resolve site issues

Support delivery of structural steel installation and civil works to spec

What We’re Looking For:

4–6 years of experience as a Site / Project Engineer, ideally with exposure to both civil infrastructure and structural steel projects and installations

Proven experience in crane lift planning and SWMS preparation

Ability to manage subcontractors and deliver to tight deadlines

Strong technical understanding of steel erection and civil construction

Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred)

Excellent problem-solving, communication and leadership skills

Local project experience highly desirable
