EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, Fixed-Term (until March 2026)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Junior Accountant with a primary focus on managing refunds and preparing manual settlement files, you will play a crucial role in processing, preparing, and maintaining accounts and other financial documents. This position requires a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities. You will oversee refunds while ensuring accurate reconciliation of related financial data.

In this role, you will need to be detail-oriented, capable of managing routine tasks within tight deadlines, and proficient at identifying and resolving discrepancies. Professionalism and compliance with internal control procedures are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Refund Management:

Weekly Premium Refund Processing: Efficiently handle the processing and management of weekly premium refunds to ensure all client requests are met in a timely manner.

Document Preparation: Assist in creating manual settlement files for refunds, ensuring that all transactions and refunds are accurately documented.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with relevant departments to ensure prompt resolution of premium refund issues and facilitate a seamless refund process.

Timely Query Response: Address queries from other departments promptly to maintain operational efficiency and effective communication.

Maintain Premium Refund Register: Create and maintain a detailed register of premium refunds, including the sending of approval files and regular updates to necessary databases.

Defect Ticket Management: Support the management of Service Now tickets related to premium discrepancies, ensuring that all inquiries are resolved efficiently and effectively.

Reconciliation & Reporting Process:

Regular Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliation of premium settlements reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Follow-Up on Discrepancies: Proactively follow up on reconciling items and resolve discrepancies in an expedited manner to maintain financial integrity.

Bi-Weekly Refund Reporting: Prepare and compile bi-weekly refund files to be shared with our partner, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.

Ad-Hoc Duties:

Provide assistance during month-end closing procedures as needed to ensure timely completion.

Backup Support: Serve as a backup for team members during their absence, ensuring continuity of workflow and responsibilities.

Additional Tasks: Complete any other tasks as assigned by management, contributing to team objectives and overall success.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Progress towards CPA certification is preferred

Practical experience through internships or entry-level positions is highly valued.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work in project mode with several stakeholders.

Ability to work in an international environment.

Knowledge of insurance sector is a plus

Financial principles and practices.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
