Port Phillip Ferries is an independently owned business offering passenger ferry services between Portarlington, Geelong and Victoria Harbour, Docklands. Operating 7 days a week and based out of Portarlington, we provide a unique service to a wide range of customers seeking both commuter and tourism experience.

The Role:
We are currently seeking a MED1 Fulltime Engineer based out of Portarlington. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of our exciting ferry service while expanding your experience in the stunning Port Phillip Bay area and beginning a long-term career with a growing business!
Duties include:
Operate and maintain main and auxiliary machinery and electronics
Manage all machinery spaces, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
Correct and maintain liquid state and vessel stability
Manage and control stores and spare parts inventory of all essential mechanical and electronic parts
Liaise with the Master at all times and keep them informed of defects that affect the performance and safety of the vessel
Manage the vessel in accordance with relevant legislative requirements including but not limited to; AMSA's National Standard for Commercial Vessels, Navigation Act, Marine Orders, Speed or No wash restrictions, Environmental regulation
Ensure the vessel is navigated safely with due regard to prevailing conditions and vessel traffic
Work with Master to ensure the vessel routine/daily/weekly/monthly maintenance tasks and minor vessel repairs are completed
Available to work a rotating 365-day roster inclusive of weekends & public holidays
Essential Criteria:
MED1 Certification or higher
Marine Radio Operator's Certificate of Proficiency
First Aid & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Confined Space Permit Entry 2 days or ability to obtain
Working at Heights Permit or ability to obtain
