Permanent Part-time (30 hours per week) position working Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4pm at our Georges Hall Location.

About the role

As the Recreational Activity Officer (RAO) you are responsible for motivating clients towards emotional and physical rehabilitation through recreational and socialization activities that promote psychological, social and physical wellbeing. You will work collaboratively with the Day Centre Team in maintaining skill level, independence and mobility of individual clients.

Furthermore, you are also responsible for role modelling BCAC’s values and the behaviours that create a high performing, highly engaged team. This includes creating a positive and professional work environment for clients, families, employees, doctors and allied health professionals.

Skills you’ll need to succeed

Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent

A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role is needed to perform this role successfully

Have a current NSW Drivers Licenses

Hold a First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one

Experience in designing, coordinating and delivering socialisation and recreational activities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Self-disciplined and manages competing priorities

Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy

Self-motivated person with high levels of initiative and ability to work autonomously.

Maintains a high level of productivity and approaches tasks in an efficient and effective manner

Demonstrates openness and the ability to learn new skills, accept feedback and improve self
