Senior Support Worker (Part Time)
Position Purpose
The Senior Support Worker is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and operational support across allocated Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, while also delivering direct client support.
Completing IR Reports & RP reports via the NDIS Portal & stakeholder meetings with the Team Leader, with and preparing operational reports & stakeholder meetings either from SIL locations or Head Office based in Virginia (Brisbane North), which is approx 20% of the role.
Working with Clients in frontline billable hours, mentoring & supporting staff in frontline service delivery (approx 80% of the role)
The position also offers an opportunity to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate who is seeking career advancement, with added responsibilities in recruiting and training new staff as well as client onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Coordination
Act as the lead support worker for allocated SIL homes to ensure smooth daily operations.
Mentor, coach, and support staff to meet client needs and organisational expectations.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with Team Leaders, office staff, clients, families, and other stakeholders.
Assist with rostering and shift coverage to maintain service continuity and compliance.
Service Delivery
Provide direct support to clients in accordance with individual support plans, Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP), and NDIS Quality and Safeguards standards.
Promote client independence, dignity, and choice in all aspects of daily living.
Respond to incidents promptly and follow all reporting procedures.
Recruitment, Training & Onboarding
Participate in recruiting new staff, including assisting with interviews and shortlisting.
Support the induction and training of new team members to meet organisational and NDIS requirements.
Assist with client onboarding, including familiarisation with support plans, home routines, and service delivery expectations.
Administration & Reporting
Complete 8 hours per week of office-based administration.
Prepare weekly operational and client progress reports for management.
Access and use the NDIS Commission Portal to submit reports
Maintain accurate records within the organisation’s systems and databases.
Working Conditions
Part-time position with 24–32 hours per week.
Primarily Monday to Friday, with flexibility for some on-call work.
Work is split between office-based tasks and direct client support.
Role requires travel between SIL locations in Logan, Ipswich, and Brisbane North.

Work mainly across our Logan and Ipswich SIL services, with flexibility to cover Brisbane North when required.

Essential Requirements
✅ Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in the NDIS sector (Senior Support Worker or Team Leader).
✅ Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support a team.
✅ Strong understanding of NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
✅ Experience using the NDIS Commission Portal for incident reporting and RP reporting.
✅ Experience with rostering, shift coordination, and workforce management.
✅ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
✅ Ability to manage both frontline work and administrative duties.
✅ Current First Aid & CPR certification.
✅ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
✅ Unrestricted driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
Desirable
Experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.
Proficiency with rostering and client management systems.
