About Us: We are a multidisciplinary team providing specialized support to NDIS clients. Our approach is trauma-informed and client-centred, ensuring that individuals feel understood and supported. Our clients are mostly families, children and young people.
About the Role: We are seeking an immediate start for two motivated and experienced Support Workers to join our team and support a specific NDIS client with complex needs. This is a unique opportunity for currently studying students to gain hands-on experience, and for experienced support workers to recieve regular clients in a supportive environment. Gain experience in working with individuals facing significant mental health challenges, and complex needs under the guidance and support of a multidisciplinary expert team. We are specifically looking for Male support workers as requested by our clients on waiting lists, but we also have some casual positions available for female Support Workers. All welcome to apply for the various postions we have available both Part Time and Casual positions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent and practical support to the clients at their residence and in the community. Helping young people engage in activities in the community and participate in their choices and direction in their lives. Supporting the family in their desired outcomes.
Apply trauma-informed care practices to ensure the client feels secure and understood.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support the client's transition out of crisis, where applicable, and support their NDIS goals.
Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet the client’s needs.
Requirements:
Current Blue Card and Yellow Card.
Right to work in Australia.
Availability for long shifts between 9am and 6pm, at least two days a week, and some weekend and respite work overnight a few times a month.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
First aid and CPR certification.
Cert 3 in a relevant field is required for those with previous Support work experience. A Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in Social Work, Psychology, or a similar field is preferred but not required for the right applicant.
Experience working with clients with young people and families with complex needs.
A proactive willingness to learn and adapt to areas outside previous experience.
