Automotive Equipment Technician
For almost 50 years Davies Automotive has been selling and servicing solutions to workshops and dealerships. Nationally, we are a highly respected service & installation company with an outstanding reputation within the automotive industry.
We are looking to expand our team in our Victorian Branch. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and join our great team.
Day to day, this role would see you working with one of our experience technicians on all sides of the business. Some days the applicant will be performing scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicle hoists as part of our service team. Other days will see the applicant out in one of our install trucks completing relocations of vehicle hoists, Installation of New hoists and major pull-down repairs.
As Davies automotive has a national customer base some interstate work is required. New store fit outs for one of our national fleet customers will see the applicant fly in fly out of SA, NSW, QLD or NT to assist our install team or join our local contractors for these large projects. Interstate work is shared by all team members and plenty of notice is always provided, these trips are normally Monday- Friday.
The work covers wide range of skill sets, there is a lot of mechanical assembly/disassembly, lifting and rigging, Hydraulic works, Low voltage Electrical, Welding and Fabrication, general construction and civil works.
The position provides an excellent opportunity for someone that is highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-driven and mechanically minded. Minimal experience is required for this role as the applicant will be always working with a competent senior technician who will provide specialist training. Although general trade skills would be highly advantageous on an application.
The position requires the applicant to report directly to the Service Manager. There will be a training period of 12-18 months under direct supervision, once deemed competent there will be opportunity for the applicant to work unsupervised.
There is lots of opportunities for motivated applicants to progress towards running a service or installation team.
All applicants must have,
Exceptional social communication skills
Punctual, Presentable and trustworthy
Must be able to use basic service software on tablet
A current driver’s licence, MR or HR Truck highly advantageous
High level OHS practises
High attention to detail and quality of work
Basic mechanical or trade skill highly advantageous
Service and maintenance experience highly advantageous
Be available for occasional interstate work
Fork lift, EWP licence Highly Advantageous
Supply basic mechanical hand tools (not required to start, within 6 months a small tool kit should be slowly developed)
