About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate female Support Worker with at least 2 years of experience in mental health. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities and must be proficient in using a van and wheelchair.

This role includes supervising clients during swimming sessions, interacting positively with children, and preparing a variety of meals. You’ll assist clients with medical appointments, help maintain cleanliness in their living spaces, and provide personal care.

An understanding, non-judgmental attitude and excellent active listening skills are essential. You’ll also be required to handle clients with complex medical conditions and support them with their day-to-day activities.

Pet-Friendly Requirement: The role also involves taking the client’s dog for daily walks, so being comfortable around pets is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Mental Health Support: Work with clients with various personality disorders.

Disability Support: Transfer clients using vans and wheelchairs safely and effectively.

Personal Care: Assist with showering, grooming, and hygiene tasks.

Cooking: Prepare and cook meals per client dietary needs.

Appointments: Drive and accompany clients to appointments.

Cleaning: Keep living spaces clean and well-maintained.

Pet Care: Take the client’s dog for a walk daily.

Active Listening & Attitude: Build trust with a supportive, non-judgmental approach.

Medication Assistance: Prompt and assist with medications.

Qualifications:

Education: Certificate III or Diploma in Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in mental health + experience with physical disabilities.

Driver's License: Full Australian driver's license (Required).

Other Requirements:

Proficient with vans and wheelchairs

First Aid (Preferred)

Availability:

Shifts: 8 or 10-hour shifts

Roster: Rotating roster including weekdays and weekends

Flexibility: Must be available for a variety of shifts across the week
