About the role

IDEA Innovative Disability Engagement Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and compassionate Female Disability Support Worker with proficiency in Auslan to join our team in St Marys, NSW. This role will involve providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independently and thrive in their community.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote client well-being and community integration

Advocating for client needs and collaborating with allied health professionals to develop and implement personalised support plans

Communicating effectively with clients using Auslan, providing a inclusive and accessible environment

Maintaining detailed client records and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations

What we're looking for

Demonstrated experience in the disability support or aged care sectors, with a strong commitment to person-centred care

Proficiency in Auslan, enabling you to communicate fluently with our diverse client base

A caring, patient, and empathetic nature, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing client needs

A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or equivalent
