The opportunity

The Management Accountant is responsible for end-of-month reporting and supporting the finance team by performing a range of financial and accounting functions accurately and efficiently.

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and delivering accurate and timely month-end financial reports and analysis

• Preparing and posting journal entries including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustments

• Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances

• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes across departments

• Monitoring cash flow and assisting with treasury functions

• Supporting the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit requirements

• Providing financial insight and support to operational teams and management

• Supporting continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls

• Assisting with cost analysis, margin review, and variance analysis

• Maintaining accurate general ledger records across the group entities

• Supporting compliance with tax obligations including BAS, PAYG, FBT and superannuation

• Liaising with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions as required

• Supporting ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required across the business

To be successful in this role:

· Tertiary qualifications in Finance and Accounting

· Has previously worked within a commercial environment (5 years’ experience at same level)

· Advanced Excel skills is essential and previous experience working with a MYOB Advanced ERP highly preferred

· Ability to liaise and advise staff at all levels of the finance policies and procedures and liaise effectively with external stakeholders.

· Analytical skills including the ability to assess problems and propose solutions and then develop the framework to implement them.

· High-level written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization, internal and external stakeholders.

· Good time and people management skills to manage the reporting process and deadlines.

· Excellent ability to multi-task, work independently and to use initiative and problem-solving skills in order to organise and prioritise workloads.
