About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage the daily activities of the drilling crew, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of HDD projects across metro and regional WA.

Reporting directly to Operations Supervisors and the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating HDD rigs such as Vermeer or Ditch Witch
• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and service locators
• Completing daily paperwork including risk assessments, bore logs, and dig permits
• Maintaining safety standards and managing site operations
• Conducting equipment maintenance and inspections
• Leading a team onsite, ensuring task delegation and best practices

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating HDD rigs and leading a crew
• Certificate III in Trenchless Technology, White Card, Pit & Pipe Certification (desirable)
• HR Truck Licence (required); ILEUA & ILPUA Certs, First Aid/CPR (desirable)
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical plans
• Proficient with systems such as OneDrive or WorkBuddy (desirable)
• Excellent teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
