We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team based in Marrickville. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work both remotely and in-office, and the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation. The salary for this position is $85,000 + Super.

To be successful in this role, you must have hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large-scale organisation, along with a solid understanding of fixed asset accounting and AASB 16 compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete month-end processing and ensure timely financial reporting
• Manage full-function payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax and employment legislation
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers in line with AASB 16
• Oversee AP/AR functions including invoice verification, coding, receipting, and payment processing
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support cashflow management
• Ensure accuracy of employee expense claims via ExpenseMe
• Assist with continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and policies
• Support internal audits and policy reviews as required

What We’re Looking For:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or equivalent commercial experience
• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll within a medium to large organisation
• Working knowledge of AASB 16 and fixed asset accounting
• Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
• CPA or CA qualification, or currently studying or willing to commence CPA/CA
• Full working rights in Australia are essential
