Case Worker | Pinangba | Stagpole Street Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit
Employment Term: Casual
Location: Townsville
Remuneration: $44.58 + casual loading + 12% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances

Stagpole Street Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit (SSDARU)
SSDARU provides residential rehabilitation services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Services are delivered by Pinangba, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led arm of UnitingCare. The service is based on a modified family therapy model.

The Role:
As a Case Worker, you will be managing a client case load and participate in the delivery and planning of a high standard of care and support to our residents. A day in the role will see you:
Conduct comprehensive initial drug & alcohol assessments.
Develop treatment plans & support your clients to ensure individual needs are met.
Provide advocacy and support for clients who require the assistance of outside agencies.
Develop and maintain sound working relationships with key stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for improvement.
Plan, conduct and facilitate in-service training to other staff.
What you’ll need:
You’ll have a genuine passion for supporting people to overcome addiction with the following skills and attributes:
Cert IV in community services/social emotional wellbeing – desirable.
Previous case management experience ideally within a similar service.
Current Open QLD drivers’ licence.
Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
Sound computer skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of social, health and cultural issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
