About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to work within the multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of culturally safe gynaecology care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women accessing the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital's Women's Business Shared Pathway (WBSP). Duties are of a complex and varied nature and the majority are performed with a high level of independence.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Coordinate and conduct regular community-based health promotion and prevention sessions relevant to women's health.
- Utilise high level communication and interpersonal skills to build health literacy and encourage self-determination in women accessing the WBSP, and the wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
- Support the growth of cultural capability amongst the WBSP team, and the broader RBWH GOPD and allied health departments as required through the provision of cultural education and cultural mentoring relevant to a clinical context.
- Actively participate in MNHHS Health Equity initiatives and appropriate professional organisations such as the National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners (NAATSIHWP)
