The Waterway Policy & Programs branch is seeking a Policy Officer to join the Environmental Policy team. This role will develop and implement key policies and projects to support waterway health and management in Victoria, and deliver actions in the Victorian Waterway Management Strategy and Water is Life. The role requires proven policy and project management skills as well as clear communication and collaboration experience to support work with our key delivery partners.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Essential - a degree qualification or higher, preferably in science, environmental engineering, natural resource management, environmental law, or a relevant equivalent.
- Highly desirable - demonstrated knowledge of Victoria's water resource management framework, and/or impacts of climate change on water resources (surface water and/or groundwater) or waterway health outcomes.
- Demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge of Aboriginal Culture and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal Victorians today to deliver culturally informed government policies and services is required.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street East Melbourne, with hybrid work arrangements available.
