The Role

An opportunity exists for a dedicated and high performing Legal Secretary with Wills & Estates experience.

As a Legal Secretary – Wills & Estates at Prior Law, you will play an integral role in supporting the Wills & Estates team through high-level legal and administrative support. Acting as a Personal Assistant to the Partner, you will manage diaries, book client appointments, handle direct client communication, and ensure that all file documentation is accurate, up to date, and managed with absolute discretion and professionalism.

The role requires transcription of digital dictation, with a strong emphasis on typing speed and accuracy. You will assist in the preparation, collection of information, and lodgement of probate and letters of administration, and the administration of estates.

You will also assist in the preparation of estate planning documentation including wills and powers of attorney, and draft and collate distribution statements. Your general duties will include court document preparation, file and matter management, and general secretarial and law clerk support.

You will liaise directly with clients during often sensitive times to collect information and provide progress updates. Additionally, you will communicate regularly with the Supreme Court, financial institutions, and other third parties to ensure all procedural requirements are met.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will need to manage multiple priorities, exercise empathy and sound judgment, and uphold the firm’s commitment to providing compassionate, timely, and high-quality client service. The role is central to ensuring the smooth and efficient management of estate planning and estate administration files from beginning to end.

Your Experience

To be successful in this position you will have previous experience in a legal secretarial or clerk role, preferably within Wills & Estates.

You will have:

· excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

· proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Legal Management Software.

· a compassionate and professional manner when dealing with clients.

· high-level typing skills and experience with dictation transcription.
