About the role
Scotch Oakburn College is seeking an experienced and dynamic teacher to join our team as the Director of Teaching & Learning - Penquite Campus in 2026. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of innovative teaching and learning strategies to support the academic success of our senior school students. The role is based in Launceston, Tasmania.
What you'll be doing
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of teaching and learning in the Senior School
Develop and implement curriculum and assessment frameworks to enhance student outcomes
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practices
Mentor and support teaching staff to enhance their professional capabilities
Analyse student performance data and implement targeted interventions to address learning gaps
Collaborate with school leadership to align teaching and learning with the college's strategic vision
Ensure compliance with all relevant educational policies, regulations and standards
What we're looking for
Extensive experience in an educational leadership role, preferably within the senior secondary level
Proven track record of driving improvements in teaching and learning outcomes
Strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning methodologies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with staff, students and parents
Ability to analyse data and use insights to inform strategic decision-making
Postgraduate qualifications in education, curriculum development or a related field
