About the role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our GEMITH program at Hospital in Your Home in Townsville, Queensland. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality, innovative occupational therapy services to patients in the comfort of their own homes. As an Occupational Therapist on our GEMITH team, you will play a vital role in supporting the independence and wellbeing of our elderly and vulnerable clients.

What you'll be doing

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualised treatment plans to address the unique needs of each client

Provide hands-on therapy and support to help clients maintain or improve their functional independence in daily living activities

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure a coordinated approach to client care

Educate clients and their families on techniques and strategies to promote safety and facilitate ageing in place

Contribute to the continuous improvement of our GEMITH program by identifying opportunities for innovation and growth

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Minimum 2 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a rehabilitation, community-based or home care setting

Demonstrated expertise in addressing the unique needs of elderly and/or disabled clients

Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective therapy interventions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate with clients, families and the multidisciplinary team

A passion for providing client-centred, evidence-based care and a commitment to continual professional development
