About the role

Mater Occupational Therapy department are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the team on a Permanent Part-time basis working 15 hours per week located at our South Brisbane campus.

The Occupational Therapy department at Mater Health provides public and private health services across a range of clinical specialties. These include general medical, general surgical, orthopaedics, neurosciences, cancer care, rehabilitation, lymphoedema, psychosocial/mental health and neonatology and paediatrics. The team encompasses both Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants and deliver services within inpatient, outpatient and telehealth settings.

Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

• Independently undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols to achieve patient focussed outcomes
• Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
• Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
• Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
• Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies to facilitate patient centred care
• Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise

About you

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or Master of Occupational Therapy
• Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
• Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in delivering assessment and intervention in a day therapy rehabilitation setting within the area of occupational therapy
• Demonstrated ability to apply occupational therapy principles to occupational therapy clinical services in a day therapy rehabilitation environment
