About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to provide strategic leadership and exemplary supervision to all Electrical Tradespersons and operational electrical staff under your direction. You will foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and professional teamwork. This role is responsible for delivering a reliable, legislatively compliant, and safe electrical service across The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) and selected offsite facilities. The position also requires participation in the on-call engineering duty roster and availability for occasional after-hours work when operational needs a

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Manage staff in such a manner as to affect a positive outcome for each staff member of the team and the departments clients. Implement a programme of ongoing staff training, emphasising different aspects of the department's responsibilities and rotating the staff accordingly.
  • Assist the Project manager to provide all electrical price comparisons for the purpose of quoting for projects and provide professional electrical expertise towards project design implementation and commissioning
  • Demonstrate the ability to estimate costs and submit to the Project Manager for approval. Also undertake to provide costing for day-to-day maintenance and planned maintenance of machinery and buildings to assist planning for budget forecasts.
  • Develop plans to achieve continuity for ongoing maintenance on the complex, planned new works, and planned maintenance.
