Your day-to-day will involve ensuring our operational staff and contractors are up to date and compliant with relevant Sunwater policies and legislative requirements.
There will be a strong emphasis on your ability to manage and participate in high-voltage (HV) access and HV switching operations. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise in risk management systems, policies, and procedures.
Other responsibilities include:
- Consulting with regional leadership teams to support evolving standards and drive improvements in electrical safety
- Assisting projects teams through the design process, providing input to ensure alignment with operational requirements and electrical standards
- Auditing completed works to verify compliance with Sunwater’s standards and operational need
- Acting as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP), with a primary focus on your designated scheme, under the Sunwater Electrical Contractor Licence, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS Electrical Standards and all other legislative requirements
- Providing technical direction, asset management advice, and analytical support to the Operations Team to optimise infrastructure asset performance
- Supporting fault response activities by assisting with the diagnosis and resolution of complex electrical issues, helping ensure continuity of operations and timely restoration of services
Please note that our portfolio is diverse, and you will be required to occasionally travel to access the distant assets. You will also be required to work a 1 in 2 roster which will require weekend work.
We are seeking a highly analytical individual with expert level knowledge of the requirements for the management and maintenance of electrical infrastructure and assets. You will have qualifications as an HV Switching Operator alongside 5 – 10 years relevant experience in the planning, execution, construction and maintenance activities associated with high voltage installations.
You will also bring:
- Ability to obtain Qualified Technical Person (QTP)
- HV Coordination Qualification
- Demonstrated experience with PLC and SCADA systems
- Demonstrate experience with electrical maintenance practices
- Demonstrated practical project and contract management skills, with proven ability to meet agreed timeframes and deliverables
