Lesaffre Australia Pacific are now seeking an experienced individual to take responsibility for Quality Assurance. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for manufacturing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs and their execution, providing daily support to the Operations team for measurement & management of product quality, ensuring quality across the product portfolio manufactured at the plant and third-party manufacturing partners. This is an onsite based role.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Provide leadership in a Safety-First culture ensuring positive safe work practices across the business.

The Quality Manager needs to ensure all QA/QC programs & procedures meet regulatory & customer compliance requirements.

Continually review QA systems and procedures to meet current and future internal requirements, as well as national and international Health, Safety Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) standards.

Direct and coordinate the company’s quality program, including the implementation of GFSI and ISO9001 systems and procedures.

Co-ordinate 3rd Party accreditation processes.

Work with colleagues to foster a food safety culture.

Ensure that employees across all areas and sites comply with all Quality and Food Safety Policies and Procedures.

Provide data and troubleshooting support to the Manufacturing Team.

Work with Managers to ensure that any equipment, plant and machinery used within the production areas is compliant with food safety requirements.

Manage and control the quality of raw materials and relevant laboratory test work, ensuring finished goods meet the legal compliance.

Ensure correct and consistent quality processes are followed for all production facilities.

Lead customer complaint and quality issue investigations. Implement corrective actions and prevention strategies.

Qualifications & Competencies

A relevant tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry or a related discipline.

5+ years’ experience in a food manufacturing with QA & QC.

Auditing qualifications. Completion of a recognised Internal Auditor Course is desirable.

Strong experience in Food Safety & Quality standards, ensuring HACCP, GFSI compliance.

A genuine interest in building great relationships across the business and with customers.

A strong sense of teamwork and collaboration

Excellent problem solving and RCA ability.

Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence all levels of employees and external partners.

Experience in implementing Lean Management and Continuous Improvement practices will be highly desirable.
