Electronics Technician (Support Engineer) – Instrumentation & Control Systems
Location: Sydney, NSW
Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 + Super (based on experience)

About the Role
A growing supplier of automated water treatment technologies is seeking a Support Engineer to join its Sydney-based technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on electronics testing or repair experience—ideally gained in a lab or workshop setting—who is ready to step into a diverse, technical role with long-term career potential.
You’ll work alongside senior engineers and technicians, supporting a variety of activities including QA, bench testing, wiring, repairs, and documentation. This role is well suited to a curious, methodical, and proactive individual looking to apply their skills in a niche and growing industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
Testing and QA of electronic process controllers, sensors, and instrumentation
Assisting in the Documentation process
Workload planning, reviewing P&ID's, stakeholder engagement on projects
Performing fault-finding, soldering, calibrations, and in-house repairs
Supporting the build and wiring of control panels and pump systems
Maintaining and documenting calibration/test procedures
Assisting with technical documentation and customer support
Occasionally assisting with field service, installs, or commissioning
Helping manage workshop tools, inventory, and safety practices
What We’re Looking For
Certificate III/IV or Diploma in Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field
Experience with electronic testing, troubleshooting, or repairs
Comfortable with soldering and using test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams or basic schematics
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use
Full Australian working rights and current driver's licence
Desirable Extras
Exposure to process instrumentation, or dosing systems
Familiarity with P&IDs or panel wiring
Basic CAD or 3D modelling experience (e.g. SolidWorks)
