The Opportunity

Taringa Parkside Retirement Living is a leisurely retirement living community located in the inner-city suburb of Taringa, home to 130+ independent retirement living units & villas. Working closely with our small team, you'll lead the kitchen to success by providing daily hospitality services that exceed the satisfaction of residents. You will enjoy connecting with residents, be incredibly hands-on in the kitchen, ensure sufficient supplies of goods and will enjoy working with a small, close-knit team.

This position is permanent full-time, working Monday-Friday 9.30-6pm.

Your Impact:

  • Be responsible for all kitchen and dining operations by cooking and preparing daily meals for lunch and dinner service
  • Create fresh ideas for monthly events and functions
  • Monitor daily Food Safety checklists and ensure strict adherence to all OH&S policies
  • Complete stock management of all goods including ordering, rotation and amendments
  • Complete staff rostering and ensure your team deliver outstanding service to customers
  • Following up on day-to-day operational issues including adhering to schedules, cleaning lists and performance issues

What you'll bring:

  • Experience as a Cook or Chef in a kitchen setting (e.g retirement villages, aged care, catering company, cafes, a la carte settings, RSLs or pubs)
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)
  • Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
  • Kitchen management experience (ordering stock, rostering or admin experience)
  • Minimum two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
