  • Part-Time, Permanent (0.7FTE)
  • SCHADS Level 6 with a salary range of: $110,221 - $115,102 per annum pro rata + Superannuation

  • Location: Darling Downs & West Moreton Medicare Mental Health Phone Service

About the program

Medicare Mental Health Phone Services (MMHPS) is funded by Darling Downs West Moreton PHN. The MMHPS is an accessible and welcoming central intake and assessment service receiving referrals from a range of sources including general practitioners, connecting people to the most appropriate services to meet their identified needs. This may include a referral to a Head to Health Centre or satellite, other available local PHN-commissioned services, jurisdictional services, online orprivate services. Primarily a phone-based service, the MMHPS takes direct incoming referral calls through an established 1800 mental health intake number and via a secure digital referral process.

The service utilises the Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) to support a nationally consistent evidence- informed initial assessment and referral process. This site/program also provides co-location at Qld Health Hospital and Health Services and receives and sends referrals as part of this partnership. The team is made up of clinical and non-clinical staff who receive enquiries and support people to reach the appropriate service. Choice and agency for consumers will be prioritised when connecting people to services.

About your new role

The Service Manager is responsible for the overall management and development of the Program. The Service Manager will work collaboratively with partners to develop and improve theoverall service response to consumers. The Manager will also undertake a key role in service development, including ongoing evaluation and review of service outcomes. The Service Manager works closely with the Senior Manager Operations to support the management and operation of the Program(s).

What you will bring to the role

  • Formal tertiary qualification in a related field and/or experience working in a relevant setting within a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and empower team members through coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to establish respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries with consumers, staff and partner organisations
  • Strong emotional resilience including the ability to sit with discomfort, distress and people in crisis.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and to prioritise multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines
  • Experience working within program speciality
  • Strong computer literacy and written communication skills
