MC Truck Driver and Senior Farmhand

EJ Powell & Co are looking for an enthusiastic , experienced person to join our team on a family friendly farm. The farm is located 45kms east of Quairading and only 200km from Perth. Quairading is a vibrant town providing health services, education to year 10, a grocery store, post office and a variety of sporting and social clubs.

For applicants that may not have agricultural experience, we will consider those with the appropriate truck licence and good mechanical skills, as on-farm training can be provided.

We provide an excellent salary, a great work environment along with new modern equipment, use of a farm ute and a 3 bedroom home with power and water bills covered.

The position provides for a balance between driving one of our modern truck and road train combinations carting grain, fertiliser and other bulk material (around 50% of the time) and working as a senior farm hand on our modern grain farming property.

The flexible salary arrangement includes a combination of fixed salary for periods of less intense work and an hourly rate for peak periods such as seeding and harvest. No livestock, so generally work is Monday to Friday. For the peak periods of intensive activity (seeding and harvest) generally the working week is 6 days per week. All MC truck driving will be at competitive industry hourly rates.

General Duties include:

Carting grain, fertiliser and other bulk material.

Implement operational plans in a timely manner.

General farm work as and when required.

Record keeping.

Scheduled general maintenance and upkeep of farm vehicles and machinery.

Farm infrastructure maintenance such as fencing; shed repairs and construction.

Skill Set required:

MC (or HC ready to upgrade to MC) licence.

Permanent Australian resident.

Good mechanical skills with the experience to operate modern farm machinery.

Understand and utilize farm management software and guidance systems

Good communication skills and have the ability to work within a team.

Punctual.

Clean and tidy.

Skill Set desired:

A background in agriculture is desired but not necessarily essential.
