Are you a hands-on leader ready to grow a purpose-driven enterprise through strategic partnerships, team performance, and contract success?
Cultivating Community, an accredited social enterprise with over 25 years’ experience delivering vibrant green spaces and community connection and we are seeking a Project Manager- Gardens and Maintenance to lead and grow our garden design, build and maintenance services.
About the Role
This is an exciting leadership role where you'll manage and mentor a team of horticulture and maintenance staff across community and contracted garden sites. But it’s not just operations, you'll be a key driver of growth, with a focus on winning new tenders and contracts, particularly in the social housing and community infrastructure sectors.
You'll lead with purpose, ensuring high-quality service delivery, implementing best practice systems, and building a sustainable future for our programs. This is an opportunity to combine your commercial acumen, team leadership, and passion for social and environmental impact.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead a high-performing team of maintenance and landscaping staff, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and innovation.
Identify and secure new contracts and tenders, with a focus on social housing, public housing, and community assets.
Drive operational excellence, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality standards, and compliance.
Support place-based activation projects that enhance social connection through sustainable green infrastructure.
Collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders to amplify the organisation’s community impact.
We’re Looking for Someone With:
Proven success managing operational teams and cultivating performance.
Strong experience in business growth through contracts, tenders, and stakeholder engagement.
Commercial mindset with the ability to assess viability and build sustainable service models.
Background in landscaping, maintenance, or horticulture is highly desirable.
Experience in community, social housing, or place-based service delivery is an advantage.
A collaborative, hands-on, and values-aligned leadership style.
We’re looking for someone with:
Strong leadership and team management experience.
A proven track record in business development or contract acquisition.
Background in landscaping, garden maintenance, or related service delivery.
Commercial acumen and knowledge of compliance, safety, and ISO standards.
The ability to communicate with empathy, clarity, and purpose.
A commitment to social equity, sustainability, and community empowerment.
