Join a highly regarded faith-based independent school in Sydney's eastern suburbs in this newly created full-time permanent role with onsite parking. As a key member of the leadership team, you will use your proven expertise and hands-on leadership within the education sector to shape a gold-standard HR structure that aligns with and supports the school's mission and commitment to excellence. The school, known for its strong community ethos and outstanding reputation, prepares students for a changing world while nurturing their spiritual and cultural growth—a care that extends equally to staff and the wider community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Continuing with the development & documentation of complete and thorough PDs with immediate attention to teaching roles
- Workforce planning and recruitment including contract reviews and the design and implementation of a rigorous, end to end recruitment process that is fully consistent and compliant
- Review of remuneration and benefit program including MEA award interpretation and compiling an attractive staff benefits program with a reward & recognition component to attract and retain high calibre staff
- Efficient management of the employee lifecycle including onboarding, staff engagement to foster an engaging work environment, performance reviews and developing high quality training programs to support ongoing personal/professional development of the staff
- Implementation and ongoing review of all aspects of WHS practice and procedures in conjunction with the Risk & Compliance Manager
- Employee Engagement and culture building with a focus on a process of continuous improvement of HR practice based on feedback and best practice
- Extensive internal and external reporting functions
You will need:
- Substantial experience in a Senior HR/People & Culture Management role in the SCHOOL/EDUCATION SYSTEM - ESSENTIAL!
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of people & be supportive of the values and ethos of a faith-based environment
- Ability to work independently & prioritise your workload in order to meet tight deadlines
- Strong coaching, mentoring and change management skills
- Advanced IT literacy including the use of the MS Office suite, experience with Xero and Employment Hero will be a plus
