Head Nurse / Practice Manager – Mulberry Lane Veterinary Hospital

Full-Time or Part- Time Position

Mulberry Lane Veterinary Hospital is a vibrant and compassionate small animal practice dedicated to delivering exceptional veterinary care and building strong relationships with our clients and their beloved pets. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Nurse / Practice Manager to join our leadership team and help drive excellence across our hospital.

You’ll be the glue that holds our practice together — supporting our wonderful team, ensuring smooth daily operations, and helping us grow and evolve.

Your key responsibilities will include:

· 🐾 Team leadership & support

- Oversee daily operations, ensuring high nursing and patient care standards

- Regularly check in with staff and foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive team culture

- Coordinate and lead nurse training and mentoring

- Handle rostering to ensure optimal staffing levels

· 🛠️ Practice management & logistics

- Maintain inventory and liaise with reps for ordering supplies and medications

- Coordinate practice-wide shopping and supplies

- Manage and oversee bookkeeping tasks in collaboration with our external accountant

- Maintain and update the WHS policies and Employee Handbook

· 📅 Organisation & communication

- Work closely with the veterinary team to ensure workflow efficiency

- Organise meetings, communications, and ensure practice policies and procedures are up to date

- Be the go-to person for both day-to-day needs and strategic planning

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing (or higher), and ideally 5+ years in the industry

- Has previous leadership, team management, or practice administration experience

- Is approachable, empathetic, and solutions-focused

- Has exceptional communication, multitasking and organisational skills

- Loves keeping things running smoothly, improving systems, and creating a supportive workplace

- Has strong literacy and communication skills

- Shows impeccable attention to detail
