Our newest client is a global leader in digital security, specializing in cyber threat detection, intelligence gathering, and online brand protection. Their mission is to safeguard organizations against emerging threats such as phishing, impersonation, social media attacks, and dark web activities. With a commitment to cyber resilience and proactive defense, they develop innovative solutions to monitor and mitigate risks in an ever-evolving threat landscape.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Mobile Apps Platform Manager to drive the day-to-day delivery of our mobile development initiatives across a suite of 34 native iOS and Android applications. This hybrid role blends aspects of a Platform Manager with a Senior Technical Lead, focusing on execution, team coordination, and technical problem-solving rather than hands-on development. Strategic focus will be guided by the existing GM of Core Publishing Technology and Head of Mobile Engineering alongside other multi-disciplinary staff such as Business Analysts and Project Managers.

The successful candidate will be embedded within the mobile apps team, working closely with engineering, design, product, and project managers to ensure all streams of work are clearly defined, prioritised, and on track. This role will play a crucial part in delivering against a mobile roadmap, removing technical blockers, and maintaining a high standard of technical quality across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery Ownership:
Drive the successful end-to-end delivery of key mobile app initiatives across multiple teams and projects which will include a migration to UIKit, and a focus to design into modular architecture and codebase sharing.

Technical Oversight:
Define and clarify technical requirements. Use your expertise in iOS (primary) and Android (secondary) platforms to help resolve issues and align on technical decisions with the current development team(s).

Execution Monitoring:
Ensure active workstreams are progressing smoothly. Track progress, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate with the appropriate teams to resolve technical blockers quickly.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, designers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure aligned expectations and outcomes.

Team Support:
Act as the technical conscience for the team—ensuring quality, scalability, and best practices are maintained, even when you're not directly coding or leading from a development perspective.

Risk Management:
Identify delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies proactively.

Platform Advocacy:
Serve as a strong advocate for the mobile platform, both locally and globally. Ensure platform integrity and architecture standards are adhered to across initiatives.

Documentation:
Assist in developing clear technical documentation, requirements, user guides, and architectural overviews.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in mobile application delivery, ideally in an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead or Principal Architect capacity.

Strong background in iOS development with Objective C and Swift as well as iOS architectures.

Strong background in Android development with good working knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose and Android architectures.

Understanding of architectural patterns, system design, module architecture and reuse

Strong knowledge of Authentication

Strong CI/CD and Git Version Control usage

Experience working with APIs

Demonstrated experience managing technical project delivery across multiple workstreams.

Strong communication skills — able to bridge technical and non-technical teams, and articulate challenges and solutions clearly.

Ability to think critically, anticipate problems, and develop practical solutions with minimal supervision.

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise app ecosystems is highly regarded.
