About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planning and Assessment Coordinator to join a key team within a State Government agency. This role is ideally suited to a professional with a background in urban planning or town planning, with a passion for how transport infrastructure shapes our communities. You will be responsible for assessing a variety of applications and referrals, providing thorough and accurate responses to planning inquiries, and utilising a wide range of systems to support your research and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the assessment and review of planning applications and referrals from various stakeholders, including Local Governments, in accordance with relevant planning schemes and transport policies.

Respond to general planning enquiries, applying principles of traffic and transport planning.

Conduct thorough research using a wide selection of systems to inform detailed and accurate advice.

Liaise and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact on planning matters.

Essential:

Proven research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to build and enhance effective stakeholder relationships.

A strong understanding of traffic and transport planning policies and the systems used, particularly their application within urban or town planning contexts.

Desirable:

Obtained (or working towards) a Diploma in Urban Planning, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.

Prior work experience within the public sector.
