Varied and very hands-on Company Accountant opportunity for a growing school in the inner west.

Your new company

You will be joining a growing school in Sydney's Inner West, managing the end-to-end finance and supporting an inspiring Business Director. This role will be based in the office 5 days per week, but flexible work hours can be offered to work around your lifestyle.

Your new role

• Assist the Accountant and oversee all banking, reconciliations, month-end process, accruals, journals and depreciation schedules.
  
• Support the Business Director with strategic decisions, through the delivery of high-quality financial services aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
  
• Provides strategic financial analysis and reporting to support executive and board-level decisions.
  
• Develop and refine financial models and scenario planning for strategic initiatives.
  
• Prepare business cases and cost-benefit analyses for capital projects and major investments.
  
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term cash-flow management processes.
  
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements (GST, FBT, statutory reporting).
  
• Strengthen financial governance and internal controls; drive process improvement.
  

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be a CA/CPA qualified Accountant with experience of leading the end-to-end finance processes and strong strategic acumen. You must have excellent communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll get in return

A permanent role working for a growing organisation within the education sector. Located in the Inner West, please note this role is 5 days in the office, so you must be able to travel every day, and there is free parking. The salary for this role is $120-130k + super, although for the exceptional candidate there may be some flexibility with this, and being a school that operates as a non-profit, in future there could also be access to salary packaging.
