Company Background

Our client is an Australian retailer going from strength to strength. They have recently set up shop internationally and are still expanding their domestic footprint.

It’s an ‘all hands on deck’ type environment, where you will support the CFO & Finance Manager in supervising the team's work and ensuring timely reporting. There will be questions from operations, the Directors and store managers, so the right person will be confident & articulate.

They expect you to be on-site 5 days to support the business in this way; however, they boast excellent work-life balance and very minimal overtime, even at month-end!

With the business growth, there is an opportunity to take on more responsibility and progress.

The Role

This role has been created to support the finance team with the following tasks:

Monthly financial and management reporting, including P&L analysis and commentary.

Assistance with Monthly Board Report preparation & presentation

Ensuring cost & expense controls are followed

Cashflow forecasting

Supervision of the transactional finance

Company tax obligations, including Payroll tax, FBT and BAS

Business partnering with Key stakeholders

Working with the CFO on ad hoc tasks & reports

Managing the yearly audit process

Your Background

This is an important hire for the finance team. To be considered, they are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:

Fully CA or CPA qualified

Ideally, you can drive to work – the role is 20km from the city centre and not that accessible on public transport.

Exceptional communication skills. Both your written & verbal communication is fluent and you are a confident presenter of financial information to non-finance.

You are an experienced Accountant with a minimum of 7/8 years in your field. You have reached a Senior Accountant level and have supervised staff previously.

Ideally, we are looking for candidates from Retail, or a business that is multi-site and/or is inventory-focused.
