Instructional Designer/Animator

Ignite Minds is a dynamic organisation in early childhood education, teaching students from 3 months to 70 years old. We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to develop engaging digital learning content that caters to diverse cultures and is accessible for individuals with low English literacy. This role is a hybrid role requiring some attendance on site at the Abbotsford Convent.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be passionate about applying innovation to create effective learning experiences. You will be responsible for designing comprehensive, visually-based digital learning materials that truly work, contributing to learning strategy, scoping, planning, and management to foster organisational change and enhance our learning culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop embedded and blended learning assets in consultation with subject matter experts (SMEs) and Education Leaders.

Create instructional content, including user guides and video content.

Develop digital learning resources that address the needs of diverse cultural backgrounds and varying English literacy levels.

Collaborate and communicate effectively with SMEs and stakeholders.

Map and design assessments and select appropriate assessment tools.

Provide graphic design for instructional materials and incorporate digital illustration and animation into resources.

Ensure an engaging learner experience through effective interactive design.

Provide professional development for the leadership team on visual learning design theory and techniques, and enhance digital skills in emerging technologies like AI.

Skills & Experience:

Be fun and playful with new media and content

Proven experience in instructional design and digital learning design.

Expert proficiency in software skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Audition, Camtasia, After Effects), Storyline/Rise.

Experience with animation and video editing.

A strong understanding of learning innovation and instructional illustration.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey expectations clearly.

Superior writing and re-writing skills.

Ability to advise on system development.

Ability to work full-time and be onsite as part of a hybrid team.
