Firefly Education is a thriving educational publishing company producing high quality print and digital materials for Australian classrooms.

We are looking for a talented individual to join our growing, dynamic team. This all-rounder will be based on the Sunshine Coast, and will service the needs of primary schools in South East Queensland and Far North Queensland.

The position of education consultant requires you to promote our innovative and highly regarded spelling, maths and literacy series to primary schools.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, prepared to work flexible, full-time hours, capable of working independently from home, but willing to contribute to a team environment. You will need to be confident jumping straight in and maintaining relationships built with schools in the region. Excellent communication skills and computer literacy are essential, as is a passion for education.

The role would require you to:

handle inbound enquiries and drive outbound activities for schools within your territory, presenting our products to key primary decision makers

present professional development sessions promoting our award winning educational resources to teachers and administrators, virtually and face to face

develop and maintain a close working relationship with educational booksellers servicing schools in your region to help drive sales

stay informed of current research and best practice around teaching and learning

be comfortable driving to country areas or in city traffic

attend quarterly training meetings on the Sunshine Coast

report regularly to the Primary Education Manager

The ideal candidate will have:

qualifications and experience in primary teaching

a dynamic presence when public speaking

the ability to prioritise and manage time efficiently

the ability to travel within South East Queensland and interstate if required

a current driver's licence

a home office (on the Sunshine Coast)

Knowledge of our products would be beneficial but not essential as full training is provided. Experience in systematic synthetic phonics would be highly regarded. Sales experience would be beneficial but not essential.

This is a full-time position available immediately, noting that at the moment our hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Thursday, as Firefly Education is currently participating in a 4-Day Work Week (4DWW) Trial.
