About the Role
Randstad Education is proudly partnering with Ohana for Youth, in partnership with 54 reasons, is launching a brand-new Alternative Learning Program in Mount Isa. We're seeking a compassionate and innovative Teacher to join the dedicated team and make a real difference in the lives of young people.
This isn't a traditional teaching role. You will be responsible for creating and delivering a tailored, holistic educational program for young people who are involved in the youth justice system. Your goal will be to re-engage them with education, training, or employment pathways in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
You will work closely with a wraparound team of specialist staff, including teacher aides, youth support, and family support, to ensure each student receives the individual care and attention they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver alternative educational programs focused on literacy and numeracy.
Support a team of support staff in providing high-quality, holistic programs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and community partners.
Contribute to the establishment and success of this new program.

Required Skills & Experience
Demonstrated teaching experience, particularly in alternative education or with at-risk youth.
Proven experience in developing and implementing literacy and numeracy programs.
Skills and understanding in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and families.
Valid QCT registration and a relevant Education Degree.
A compassionate, creative, and innovative approach to teaching.
